Mobile Hotspot Troubleshooting

Did you know that you can borrow a hotspot from San Diego library and return it within 30 days (no renewals)?  A hotspot will allow you to access the internet through a phone, tablet, or computer.

Mobile Hotspot Troubleshooting

1.Check Battery Levels Double check that the battery on the device is charged. If the battery is not charged then the device will not connect to wifi.

2. Check Signal Strength Make sure that you have a strong signal connection, which will make your device more effective. Try walking around the area until you have more bars.

Note: The Wi-Fi network will stop broadcasting after 15 minutes of inactivity. Press the power button to start broadcasting again.

Factory Reset

Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds. The mobile hotspot will enter factory reset mode and will display the message, "Shutting down", followed by the message "Continue holding power button to reset all settings to factory default", and then "Resetting device. Please do not power off."

Is your printer filled with peanut butter or jams?

Can you relate? I sure can!

As I was searching for ways to describe the steps to clearing paper jams in Lexmark copiers, the support page at support.lexmark.com nearly tried to print the document--Which would have been less funny if I were really trying to clear a paper jam and had to then deal with another print job in the cue.

Libby App Access

The Libby App

Your PIN number: you'll need it to do almost everything. If you're like me you probably can't remember what your personal identification number but that's okay, you can retrieve it.

If you don't know your card number or PIN:

The Libby sign-in screen may have links from your library to help you with your card number and PIN.

If you don't know your library card number, try checking the back of your library card. It may be under the barcode. (This worked for me!)

If these tips don't work, please contact your library. They'll be happy to look it up and share it with you.

If you don't know your library

If you don't know what library you belong to, you can use Libby's library finder to view libraries near you:

Tap Menu, then Add A Library.

Search for libraries in your area with a ZIP code, or tap View A Map Of Libraries at the bottom of the screen.

If you aren't sure which branch you belong to, contact the one nearest to you. If you're a card holder (or eligible for a card), they'll help you sign into their collection.
